Berry Bushes

Berry Bushes contain self-regenerating berries that Yooka can use the Slurp Shot ability on in order to gain the use of certain abilities for twenty seconds.

All Berries[]

Only four types of berries are found in Yooka-Laylee:

Scorchberries - allow Yooka to breathe streams of fire.
Splashberries - allow Yooka to spit a stream of water.
Frostberries - allow Yooka to spit chunks of ice.
Bomberries - allow Yooka to spit explosive bombs.

All of these berries can be used while Yooka is running around. Berries can also be combined with the Slurp State ability.

Yooka Colors[]

When Yooka eats a berry, Yooka's red scales will change colors based on the type of berry eaten.

Bomberries[]

Bomberries are edible berries that are found in bomberry bushes. They give Yooka the temporary ability to blow up objects such as stone bricks and to feed Fee-Dee. They are first found in Glitterglaze Glacier and are also present in Galleon Galaxy. If a Corplet Punisher is hit by the explosion from a bomberry, they will die instantly. This plant has long green stalks with green leaves. The berries themselves are dark black with a grenade-like texture.

Splashberries[]

Splashberries are edible berries found in splashberry bushes. In Yooka-Laylee, when a splashberry is consumed, Yooka will be able to spew water out of his mouth for 20 seconds to water objects and creatures. In Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair, Yooka can hold a splashberry to throw on fires and ungrown plants. This plant has long green stalks with green leaves. The berries themselves are blue.

Various fires block the duo's path throughout the Icymetric Palace, these can be extinguished with the Splashberries

Splashberries can be found inside the Lunar Lockup, but they serve no purpose.

Frostberries[]

Frostberries are one of the types of berries found in berry bushes. If Yooka consumes a frostberry, Yooka will be able to spit large chunks of ice as projectiles. Yooka can use this to hit wooden targets, enemies, or buttons, as well as freeze water, feed Fee-Dee (alongside Bomberries) . This plant has long green stalks with green leaves. The berries themselves have a crystal-like transparency.

Scorchberries are edible berries found in fire berries found in scorchberry bushes. When consumed, a Scorchberry allows Yooka to breathe streams of fire to damage enemies, dry Nimbo, melt ice, and light torches. This plant has long green stalks with green leaves. The berries themselves glow bright orange. The center of the berry is bright yellow and darker shades of orange on the outer part of the inside section of the berry.
