Jolly the Trolley[]

Jolly the Trolley is a supporting character in Yooka-Laylee. He is an NPC in Moodymaze Marsh.

In Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair, he reappears as a supporting NPC in the beach area of the overworld.

Name Origin[]

In Britain, shopping carts are called trolleys. Jolly rhymes with trolley, giving the character a rhyming name scheme.

Appearance[]

Jolly looks much cleaner than the other shopping carts, he has no dents or rust on his frame. Jolly has two life preservers on his body, one in the basket and one around the right side of his handle. Like the other trolleys, Jolly has purple eyes connected to a purple handle bar.

Personality[]

Jolly is a responsible character for most of the time, but there are times when he neglects his duties.

Task[]

Jolly is in charge of keeping the water in Moodymaze Lagoon clean, but while he was spending the weekend in Capital Cashino, the lagoon has gotten all murky. Jolly asks Yooka and Laylee to restart the water filter by pressing the switches, which require Lizard Lash to reach. after the lagoon is cleansed, Jolly rewards the duo with a Pagie he found in a clog pipe.

In Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair, Jolly has become stranded on a rock due to some nearby sharks, who are circling the rock. The player must use Yooka's tongue to pick up rocks off a pile on the pier and throw them at the sharks to remove them. After this, they will be rewarded with the 'Cartoony' tonic, which he leaves behind on the rock.

Appearance[]

Dolly is a bit dull gray. He has an orange road cone in his basket, and two fish skeletons hanging from the sides. Like the other trolleys, he has purple eyes and a purple handlebar.

Task[]

Dolly has been pinned underneath a pile of bones while collecting trash in the Dusky Duct. Yooka and Laylee can get rid of the bones while in the Piranha Form. Once the bones are gone, Dolly will reward the duo with a Pagie he found before getting trapped.

Ollie the Trolley is a supporting character in Yooka-Laylee and Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair. He is an NPC in Moodymaze Marsh, and is voiced by Andy Robinson

Ollie is a mossy, rusty, bent out of shape shopping cart. He has three bags tied to them. One says 'Playtonic Games,' another has the Playtonic logo, and the last one has the Beta version of the Yooka-Laylee logo. Ollie has pink wheels, child seat, and handle with two googly eyes with blue pupils.

Personality[]

Ollie is an extremely cynical and depressed shopping trolley who believes his life is pointless.

Wally the Trolley is a supporting character in Yooka-Laylee. He is an NPC in Moodymaze Marsh and is voiced by Pedro Paulo Martins.

He reappears in Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair, and can be found in the beach area and in Boom Bloom Blast - Breakthrough.

Appearance[]

Wally is a mossy, rusty, bent out of shape shopping cart, with a long metal chain running through the front of his body. Wally's hat has the Playtonic logo on it. Wally has pink wheels, a hand bag and a handle with two googly eyes with blue pupils.

Personality[]

Wally has more of a positive personality as opposed to being depressed and sad as the other carts.

Task[]

In Moodymaze Marsh, Wally will ask the duo to remove mushrooms on his patch. The duo will get a Pagie as a reward for successfully completing this task. Use Laylee's Sonar 'Splosion to clear several mushrooms before the mushrooms have the opportunity to regenerate.

In Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair, rolling into him will cause him to fall into level 17, allowing the player to access Boom Bloom Blast - Breakthrough.

  • Andy Robinson on March 10th, 2017 on Twitter that he would be doing the voice of Ollie the Trolley. He did state in the past he was voicing a "depressed shopping trolley", but this was before Ollie was unveiled to the public.[1]
  • For unknown reasons, Ollie the Trolley has the same appearance as Dolly the Trolley in Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair.
  • In Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair, Dolly has swapped appearances with Ollie.
