...I thought this was a pretty satisfying ending. People finally collected the stuff that they wanted in Banjo-Kazooie. But were they happy? NO. Blasted humans! They still wanted more info on the crap that was Stop N' Swop. We at Rare were all dismayed... and then suddenly the worst thing of all came- Microsoft and Activision started making deals with our owner to buy us! I was so mad. I was hoping that at least the less profitable and more humble company would buy us, and that almost happened, until a little sitch came along that I will not disclose. And in the end, Microsoft gave away a lot of its money (but not much in the long run, cause y'know, they're Microsoft) to get us, and I now had no place any more. Sad.

I was all for another game with me in it, to maybe soothe the fans' requests, but the most I got were a quick reference or two in their crappy games Grabbed by the Ghoulies and Banjo-Pilot. (What? Almost all of their games were crappy when they didn't have a direct friendship with Nintendo...) Things were hopeless for a while... and then things started happening.

Interestingly, Rare had the Banjo series' best interests in mind, and never forgot about Banjo-Threeie that Grunty mentioned at the end of Tooie. I seem to recall the guys working on something like that around the time of the purchase. I only seem to recall a couple things: a Mumbo model and Rocket Shoes (what would these shoes have been called? we'll never know...). And then, you greedy selves, people started leaking this stuff and revealing a possibly Banjo-WIP codenamed "Banjo-X." But no-one recieved official word from Rare beyond Pilot and Grunty's Revenge, until I think 2006, when they finally knew what they were going to do...
